Your Black World reports
Diann Ford was just a 22-year old woman about to start life with her new baby. But a hit-and-run driver put an end to the mother-child bonding process before it even began. Shortly after being hit by the unknown driver, the woman gave birth in the hospital and died shortly afterward.
Ford was returning from her job at Long John Silver’s on Tuesday when the accident occurred. She was 37 weeks pregnant and taken to Austin hospital, according to the San Antonio Express-News.
Doctors delivered the child via cesarean section on Wednesday, with Ford giving birth to a new baby girl. The mother died on Thursday.
Ford’s boss, Kriss Jaccard, said that Ford was very excited about being a mom. She’d picked out the baby’s name and knew her sex. Police have not yet found the driver who killed her.
